Secret Gardening Project
In the city centre of Canterbury?

Welcome to our Secret Community Garden in the heart of Canterbury city centre, where a vibrant community is growing together!

volunteers gardening

Our journey began, on the 5th of May, with a group of passionate volunteers coming together to transform a space into a sustainable oasis. At our gathering, we rolled up our sleeves and focused on clearing the area while getting to know one another.

It was truly inspiring to witness individuals from all walks of life united by a shared goal – to create a beautiful and sustainable garden for our community.

Embracing the principles of permaculture, we are committed to fostering biodiversity and practising regenerative horticulture. Our garden will be an edible paradise, where tasty vegetables will flourish without chemicals. We're dedicated to food security and reducing our carbon footprint by growing locally and composting our organic waste.

As we come together in this green space, we not only improve our physical health but also strengthen our community bonds and enhance mental wellbeing. So come and join us for a cuppa, a chat, and a peaceful climate action in our sustainable garden.
